The UW-L Alumni band and Alumni Pompons are gearing up for the Oktoberfest parade. Rehearsals for both the alumni band and alumni pompons are Friday, Sept. 23.

Hoeschler Tower gets ‘face-lift’
It has been 11 years since Janet Hoeschler, ’40, donated funds for the Hoeschler Tower to be built at the center of campus, southwest of Cowley Hall. This summer the campus icon received some upgrades and repairs.
Do looks matter? Alumna’s study says yes
Do we perceive more attractive people as more trustworthy? One UW-La Crosse alumna scientifically tested that theory while studying psychology at UW-L. Her undergraduate research study recently landed her some publicity in the national beauty magazine – Allure.
Damico defies kindergarten teaching trend
Matt Damico, ’08 UW-L graduate, is one of the rare 3 percent of males nationally who’ve chosen to teach pre-school or kindergarten. Perhaps most males aren’t comfortable enough to show their “motherly, nurturing” side, explains Damico.
